Responsible Gaming

This page explains how to keep gambling within limits you choose, and where to turn if it stops feeling like entertainment. It is written for adults only: the eighteen-and-over restriction appears throughout this site, including on the front page.

How can I keep gambling from costing more than I meant to spend?

Each habit below works for a practical reason, not just as a rule.

  • Decide the amount before you start. A figure set while calm is more reliable than one chosen mid-session, when wins feel close and losses feel temporary.
  • Treat that amount as already spent. If you think of it as the price of the evening, you won't need to win it back, and losing it doesn't feel like a debt.
  • Never chase a loss. A bigger stake doesn't change the odds of the next outcome. It only makes the next loss larger, and chasing is how a small, planned cost becomes a serious one.
  • Keep gambling out of borrowed money. Credit, loans and money meant for bills add a repayment that outlasts the session and puts pressure on every later decision.
  • Take breaks. Stepping away interrupts the momentum of play and gives you a moment to check the clock and your balance against the plan you made.

Any spending, time or exclusion control is something you set up inside your own account at the operator you use. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application, so nothing published here can switch such a control on, check it or enforce it.

Similarly, nobody's age is verified here and no gambling takes place on these pages. Any check of that kind happens at the destination.

Where can I turn if gambling stops being fun?

Bring in someone else early, whether that is a friend, a family member or an independent organisation. It is easier to change course while the problem is still small. Another person can also see patterns you might explain away, and saying the situation out loud often makes it clearer.

Every page of this site, this one included, carries links to six independent gambling-help organisations:

BeGambleAware, Gamble Aware, Gambling Therapy, G GamCare Gambling Support: Starts Here, GAM STOP and NCPG.

These are the only outbound links on the whole site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking. They are set to nofollow and open in a separate tab on each organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when you follow one of them. Once you arrive, you are on that organisation's site, and it keeps its own record of your visit.

Nothing on these pages is aimed at you because of how you behave. No advertising or behavioural profiling network is present, no cookies are used, and the only visit data counted are page views and outbound clicks for basic traffic figures. Nobody here can see that you have been gambling heavily, and nothing will follow you around with offers because of it.

If you have noticed yourself playing longer, spending more or hiding it, treat that as the signal to pause and reach out. You don't need to wait until things feel serious.
